Six Education Technological Trends to Watch in 2007
On the way: Nations first tech literacy exams
Since technology develops at such a rampant growth, it becomes more pertinent to all aspects of our socio-economical structure for the population to be literate in this particular “learning area”. Our educational system must not deviate in creating methodologies to quickly apply technological literacy to the educational system. For developed countries, tech literacy exams are probably over due. For countries like ours, we are still struggling to create a sound infrastructure and a change in many mind frames. However creating technological literacy exams, here in PR, might be a strategy to inform all the Educational Department of its urgency.
Keeping track of all technological trends should probably be part of our schools’ curriculum. If we want to be on the vanguard, the formation of students to develop the skill of predicting future trends like what Eric Schmidt, Google’s CEO, did when he explained the futuristic concept of cloud computing. This surely would require a very strong educational program on our part. But this is wishful thinking…
The different technological inventions like “You Tube” and “telepresence” are almost incomprehensible and incredible diversifications of communication Medias for “digital immigrants” like me.
21st-century learning is an organization that seems worth while to be in contact with. It would be interesting to find out if public or private schools receive any of their services.

I can imagine the advance of technology in advanced countries, like USA at the vanguard of it, other countries in Europe and so on these countries are giving a fabulous educational services by using all it’s around in technology that is admirable for the importance of it is. Now it is possible to achieve a grade in any thing people wants to know or study. if there is any imperil the technology will help that person to have the same opportunities to knowledge Hope soon in our country we’ll be prepare to reach the advances of teaching through the technology can bring.

These Technology trends are really remarkable. Especiall the individual instructions that can differentiate the individual needs of each student. They can give each student the practice they need to achieve the level required. I think that’s fantastic. I really hope to be part of this techno dream. We can help more students achieve their goals and understanding . Many schools would be out of “El plan de mejoramiento”. This would be great! There would be less dropouts because now students tend to like everything that involves technology. Servers in clouds. Wow! Imagine the possibilities….

Technology as Carol commented is growing rapidly and we have to try to keep up. The students that we teach nowadays are technogiz and including technology as an additional subject were it will be measure and evaluated as a class in a way will help student get motivated and probably more interested in school. I think its a good I hope to see it in a future not to far from us here in P.R. I tried reading the second article but don’t know what happen couldn’t get to the correct article.

The only thing I can say after reading this is that this article is a vivid proof of how technology has earned a place in the educational system. This is growing more and more every day, just God knows what else is out there waiting for us to use it.

It’s incredible how technology has advanced. Who would imagine that it could come this far? Seeing all of this makes me wonder how it would be in a few years from now. Today is impressive and, we are far from what it will become. When is it that the Department of Education in Puerto Rico is going to do something about technology, in a realistic way?
Technology is growing everyday and change as you open and close your eyes. According with my fellow teachers I believe that technology can be and excellent tool for involve those students who don’t like school. Because as we know our students are immersed in technology everyday more and more. The government need to implant a program where the students that didn’t like school can make home works take test and make project with computers online from home. Even they could have a special mention on their graduation day just for finish the High School. Technology is good but we need to know how to use it right.
